KLAS Research Finds a 31.7-point Increase in Net EHR Experience Score at the University of Iowa Health Care After Integrating Evidently

A 2025 study by KLAS Research has found that the integration of clinical data intelligence with Evidently at University of Iowa Health Care has created meaningful impacts on provider's EHR satisfaction, as measured by Net EHR Experience Score.

After adopting Evidently, University of Iowa Health Care saw the following improvements among repeat provider respondents:

  • 31.7-point increase in Net EHR Experience Score
  • 24 percentage-point increase in agreement that the EHR has the needed external integration
  • 17 percentage-point increase in agreement that the EHR has the needed functionality
  • 15 percentage-point increase in agreement that the EHR enables quality care
  • 7 percentage-point increase in agreement that the EHR has the needed internal integration

The University of Iowa is an 862-bed academic medical center and major referral hub — over 85% of patients are referrals from outside the health system. After reviewing the results of their 2023 Arch Collaborative EHR Experience Survey, the organization knew they needed to resolve a major challenge — making sense of a tremendous amount of fragmented external patient data that existed in scanned faxes and in Care Everywhere, which providers complained was onerous to navigate.

The team integrated Evidently with a minimal lift of ~15 analyst hours. In addition to the EHR Experience impact for providers, the UIHC team has also seen a financial impact in the way of an +0.1 increase in overall Case Mix Index (CMI) that they attribute to the integration with Evidently.
