SURFACING INSIGHT AT THE SPEED OF THOUGHT
In a discussion hosted by Scottsdale Institute, Dr. James Blum discussed the impact of Clinical Data Intelligence the team saw almost immediately during the initial 30-day pilot at the University of Iowa Health Care.During a controlled 30-day pilot, the team at University of Iowa Health Care deployed Clinical Data Intelligence with Evidently as part of their strategy to address the fragmentation of clinical data across their Epic installation and external systems like Care Everywhere.
As Dr. Blum explained, “we’re a really unique organization in that, because we have such a small primary care base and most of our patients are referred to us, we have data all over the EHR. We still get the vast majority of our consultation materials faxed to us. So it’s sitting in the Media Tab somewhere. And then we have a number of organizations that refer to us. We have very little for an initial consultation that exists inside our actual native Epic EHR.”Dr. Blum and the team at UI Health Care partnered with Evidently to integrate clinical data intelligence to understand and surface insight across their internal and external systems."
POSITIVELY IMPACTING WELLBEING AND FINANCIAL METRICS
During that initial 30 day ramp-up pilot, the team found a +0.1 increase in Case Mix Index, in addition to the 31.7-point increase in Net EHR Experience Score eventually documented by a KLAS Arch Collaborative study later in the year.
