Who We’re Looking For
We are hiring software engineers with extensive industry experience and expertise in data-intensive systems that leverage AI and machine learning, who can design/implement/improve core components in our Clinical Data Intelligence Platform powering healthcare workflows. Ideally, your background would have a healthy mix of software engineering, AI/ML/NLP engineering, and data analytics/engineering. You should be hungry, curious, and self-driven for understanding complex, open-ended problems, building/shipping intelligent solutions, and rapidly iterating over their improvement.
Who You’ll Work With
- You will join a small yet mighty team, working closely with a handful of fellow software engineers on data, AI, application backend/frontend, who share the goal of giving superpowers to clinicians to improve patient care.
- You will work directly with subject matter experts in the clinical and hospital settings to build and deliver technology that not only streamline their workflows but also enable new capabilities to them.
- Members located around the Bay Area come to office in San Francisco once or more weekly. While relocation is encouraged, we are a remote-first company. You must be able to work during the core hours in the Pacific timezone. For compliance reasons, we cannot employ you outside the United States.
What You'll Do
- Build and improve clinical/health information extractors, summarizers, directly powering applications used by clinicians on a daily basis.
- Scrape, collect, extract, transform, query, analyze, mine, and distill structured/unstructured data to evaluate quality and performance of various systems, draw insights, and expand/refine our clinical knowledge graph.
- Build/improve the supporting data/AI/ML systems and automations.
- Develop and deploy secure code, and maintain confidentiality/integrity/availability of the information systems and processes in compliance with our information security and privacy policies, including HIPAA and SOC 2.
- Take part in rotating on-call duties to keep the systems running.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of experience and knowledge in AI/ML software engineering.
- Fluent in Python, SQL, Jupyter Notebooks/Streamlit, bash scripting, Linux, Git workflow. Bonus Points: Django, FastAPI, asyncio, jq, PostgreSQL, dbt, BigQuery, LLM prompt engineering, PyTorch, Pandas, Web, Typescript, React, Google Cloud Platform.
- Excellent data munging/wrangling/exploration/analysis skills.
- Great taste in designing data models and software APIs.
- Ability to design/implement efficient algorithms and data processing systems and quickly analyze/identify/correct inefficiencies.
- Clear communication/presentation/documentation skills to articulate complex ideas and results.
- Actionable knowledge and experience in the state of the art AI/ML/NLP techniques, libraries, and tools.
- Extra Credit: Familiarity with healthcare and medical domains.
Compensation: $120k – $200k • 0.1% – 0.5%
