Client: Energy Savings Trust Advice Centre

How we'd explain it to our mothers

The Energy Savings Trust (EST) is dedicated to helping people to save energy and reduce carbon emissions. Providing free, impartial advice and support for local communities, they have 21 advice centres across the UK. The EST asked us to help establish themselves as the key information hub to help Londoners save energy and money.

Behaviour change

London stakeholders (from regional and local government, partners and utilities to large employers and local communities) become aware of and engaged with the work of the EST.

The path to change

One seven minute film, plus three shorter edits for specific audiences.

How we did it

We know how to ask the right questions to get great material and unscripted, natural answers. In only one day’s shooting, we collected enough endorsement footage from businessmen, local authorities and members of the community, plus video diary style footage of consumers and team members to use in several films. Incorporating local views of London, we provided geographical context, brought the business alive in a warm and human way, and illustrated why energy saving is valuable for Londoners.

And?

The films helped establish the London EST advice centre as the main information hub to a variety of audiences. Presented at various events and meetings, the films were also uploaded on various platforms, with those on YouTube alone attracting over 1150 views to date.
